About

At the age of 21, I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and have been on a rather bumpy journey ever since, encompassing 14 years, 9 surgeries and a diagnosis change to Crohn’s Disease.  At times, this disease has robbed me of my humanity and my femininity, but along the way I’ve found ways to regain my sense of self and keep a smile on my face.  I try to be as open about my experiences as I can, and as you’ll see what keeps me going is a rather twisted sense of humor and a foul mouth.  I try to write these posts as if I were talking about my illness to a friend or family member to keep it as authentically “me” as I can.  At times, some may find my posts offensive and in poor taste – I’ll put it out there now.  If you’re looking for butterflies and rainbows, you’ve stumbled across the wrong page.  I hope you’ll take something away from reading my posts, be it some useful info or simply a well-deserved laugh at my expense.  My posts will cover a variety of topics, and I’ve added a Resources section for info on products I will occasionally make mention of.  I am in no way sponsored by these products, I have just found them tremendously helpful and would like to share the information with you in the hopes that they may help ease some of your symptoms.

Thank you for stopping by!!!!

I always thought that you had an exceptional gift of writing and expressing yourself! It will be so helpful for others experiencing this same medical issue to hear what you have been through as you share your story in your usual informative, yet humorous manner. Way to go, Michelle! Congratulations on your new literary venture! Love you, Aunt Chris
